Welcome to ELO — Nigeria's all-in-one marketplace for services, rides, food, shopping, and logistics. ELO NG LIMITED ("ELO", "we", "us", or "our") operates the ELO mobile application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect your personal information when you use our app. By using ELO, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please stop using the app.
2. Information We Collect
We collect the following types of information: • Account Information — your name, phone number, email address, and profile photo when you register. • Location Data — your real-time GPS location to match you with nearby workers, drivers, restaurants, and stores. We only collect location while the app is open (foreground). • Payment Information — wallet top-up amounts and transaction history. We do not store your card details — payments are processed securely by Paystack. • Device Information — device type, operating system, and push notification token to send you order and job updates. • Usage Data — how you interact with the app to improve the experience. • Identity Verification — for workers, drivers, and suppliers: government-issued ID, NIN, and a selfie for verification purposes only.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to: • Create and manage your account • Match you with nearby service providers, drivers, and stores • Process payments and maintain your wallet • Send real-time push notifications about your orders, rides, and jobs • Verify the identity of workers, drivers, and suppliers • Resolve disputes and provide customer support • Improve our app and develop new features • Comply with Nigerian laws and regulations
4. Location Data
ELO uses your location to provide core features of the app including finding nearby workers, tracking rides and deliveries, and showing relevant stores. We only access your location while the app is actively open on your screen (foreground permission). We do not track your location in the background. Your location is used in real time to match you with service providers and is not stored permanently on our servers after the service is complete.
5. Sharing Your Information
We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We may share your information with: • Service Providers — workers, drivers, and sellers receive your name, phone number, and delivery address only to complete your order or job. • Payment Processors — Paystack receives transaction data to process your payments securely. • Firebase / Google — we use Google Firebase for authentication, database, and cloud functions. • Legal Authorities — if required by Nigerian law, court order, or to prevent fraud and protect safety.
6. Data Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your data including: • All data is transmitted over HTTPS (encrypted) • Firebase Security Rules restrict access so users can only read their own data • Payment processing is handled by PCI-compliant Paystack — we never store card numbers • Push tokens are stored securely and only used to send you notifications about your own activity No system is 100% secure. 7. Data Retention
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide our services. If you delete your account: • Your profile and personal details are removed within 30 days • Transaction records may be retained for up to 7 years as required by Nigerian financial regulations • Chat messages are deleted within 30 days You can request deletion of your data at any time by contacting privacy@eloapp.ng.
8. Your Rights (NDPA 2023)
